What is the expected slippage when we compare master and child accounts?

As we place market orders in the child accounts, no matter how fast we place the orders in the child accounts, there will be slight mismatch in the executed price. As a result, sometimes the Master account and Child account Profit and Loss will not match. There will be some plus/minus in the actual Profit and Loss. We can't quantify the slippage precisely as it is completely dependent on market conditions and volatility.

What is 'TIMES' Multiplier in Copy trading context?

If you want to place a different number (n Times) of lots/quantity in your child accounts than your master account, you can make use of the 'TIMES' multiplier. For example, in your master you placed 2 lots of trade in an instrument and you want 5 times of the quantity (5x2=10 lots) in your child for all buy/sell orders, you can set the Multiplier as 5 and set it to 'TIMES'. You can also set fractional values in the TIMES multiplier. Please note, using fractional values may not give an integer value, for which system rounds down the multiplied result to the lower integer value (For example, in master there are 3 lots of order and multiplier is set to 0.6 times, making it 1.8 quantity in child, system will round it down to 1 to avoid margin shortfall instances).

What is 'FIXED' Multiplier in Copy trading context?

When you want to place a fixed lots/quantity order in your child (no matter what lots/quantity you place in the master account), you can make the multiplier as 'FIXED'. While it is simply the quantity that you set as a multiplier, it has some caveats. For example if you set a 'FIXED' multiplier of 2 in your child account and place 2 BUY orders in your master account (say 4 lots and 2 lots respectively), it will place 2 orders of 2 lots in your child (as multiplier is set to 2). But while exiting, if you exit all 6 lots in one order in your master account it will place a sell order of 2 lots in your child as the multiplier is still 2 FIXED. As a result 2 lots will remain open in your child account. You can make use of the exit button in such cases. You need to make sure the number of orders for buying and selling has to be the same for proper execution in child while using the 'FIXED' multiplier. Or for more standard practice you can use 'TIMES' multiplier which is the default setting. Please note, only integer values will be accepted here, fractional values would not place any order in child accounts."

Being a technical and internet related setup, we have seen broker APIs crashing at times and emergency situations where exiting open positions plays a crucial role. We have an emergency exit button both at Master and Child account level for a granular level of control for any emergency exit scenario. Exit feature is capable of placing orders including order slicing for high quantities (more than freezing quantity) so that net position is made ZERO. Child level exit buttons can be used to exit all positions from a particular child account. Please note, the Master level Exit button will exit all positions from all child accounts (having trade button ON) under that master account, but it will not exit any position from the master account. As in an ideal scenario, the master account is handled by the user itself, we don't operate in any orders for the master account, hence the exit button will not exit from the master account.

Which brokers need API details from users for account configuration?

We have Vendor API partnership for Fyers and Alice Blue, hence users don’t need to provide API details for adding these broker accounts. While you will need to furnish API details (API key, API secret) for Angel One, Zerodha, Finvasia, Flattrade, Motilal Oswal, Kotak Neo, Dhan, AC Agarwal, Tradejini.

What are the broker API charges?

Zerodha charges Rs.2000/month for every account(Both Master and Child) to provide API details while all other brokers are having free API. Please note, you have to use a separate API for Quantbot and the same API details can't be used for any other platform. Ensure maintaining separate API details for separate platforms.

Do I need to login everyday in the platform?

All integrated brokers are automated login mechanisms. If accounts are added properly during account configuration and credentials are unchanged, the system will login automatically everyday by 8:40 am. Users are advised to check the ACCOUNT CONFIGURATION page after 8:40 am every day as at that time it will show the latest autologin status for that day. If you see any login has failed, you can use the reconnect button or in case of any change in credentials, you can edit that account details and update it. please make sure you complete these login activities within 8:50 am (Specially for master accounts if it has failed to login) as our copy trading functions start between 8:50 to 9 am. It is always better not to involve in any login related activities for this time window to avoid any clash.

Yes as different instrument has different freezing quantity, if you are using high multipliers which might result in quantity which is more than freezing quantity, system will automatically slice them and place multiple orders in those cases."
